NATIONAL LIBRARY AND DOCUMENTATION SERVICES BOARD
The National Library is mainly a research and a reference library and it is the main library and information centre in Sri Lanka.
Being the national knowledge centre, providing access to library and information services for all.
The National Library of Sri Lanka was inaugurated on 27th April 1990 by HE Ranasinghe Premadasa, then President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
The tree is one of the most expressive symbols of nature. It signifies protection, shade from the sun, as a source of nourishment and a place for calm reflections.
